While we have over 100 staff located across Australia, Asia, United States and Europe. This role is based in our brand new refurbished office in Frenchs Forest, Sydney. However, there is some flexibility for remote working. Our team here works from Monday to Friday so that we can ride bikes on the weekend!
What you’ll do
The Content Writer is responsible for writing content in the form of blog articles, product pages, social posts and video scripts, whilst ensuring consistent editorial tone & manner across the Bikes Online website & socials.
You will receive new product briefs from our Product Buying Team and be responsible for crafting convincing product descriptions to ensure the Product Pages on our website attract traffic via conforming to SEO best practices, and convert browsers into customers with emotive language that communicates the key selling points of each product, whilst ensuring all information (including product specs, video subtitles and images) is accurate. You will then work closely with our website team to ensure the approved product pages are uploaded onto our website on time and without mistakes.
As a key member of the content team, your creative & technical writing skills, combined with your keen attention to detail will build customer trust and engagement. Your work will extend to educating customers via blog articles, social posts and video scripts that address a range of bike related topics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Product pages – Create suitable product descriptions that accurately represent all Bikes Online products, from bikes to products & accessories
- Marketing copy – Review, modify and create copy for Google & Facebook advertisements as well as working closely with our advertising agencies to create content where needed for SEO (search engine optimization)
- Blogs – Produce and maintain a variety of written content pertaining to bikes and parts & accessories (P&A)
- Interdepartmental cooperation – Work alongside the website and products & accessories team, ensuring deliverables are accurate and uploaded in a timely fashion
- Photography – on occasion, products & accessories photos will need to be sourced or taken in our inhouse studio, and uploaded to the relevant product page – improving the customer experience whilst aligning with brand guidelines
- Brand voice – produce written and visual content that aligns with relevant style and tone of voice, ensuring consistency amongst all digital platforms
- Email content – responsible for curating existing content into our email and producing weekly reports to the email team
- Other tasks as required
What you’ll bring to the team
- 2+ years of relevant experience in copywriting or journalist role
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing & communications, journalism or related field
- Broad exposure to cycling industry and international cycling brand awareness
- Aware of the latest trends within the biking industry
- Demonstrated creativity, with the ability to develop original content that generates engagement & sales
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure or tight deadlines
- Highly computer literate with basic knowledge of HTML, popular
- Familiar with Content management systems and effective in using Google suite, Asana, Slack and e-commerce platforms like Neto
- Basic understanding of photography and visual design principles
- Self-driven, with high standards of quality
