Metro Cycles Workshop Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced bicycle mechanic to join our small, dedicated, friendly team at our retail outlet in central Newcastle, Australia.

Selection Criteria

• Minimum 2 years experience as a professional bicycle mechanic. Experience with e-bikes, European style commuter bikes, and cargo bikes highly desirable.
• Mechanical aptitude, ability to research solutions, source parts and work unsupervised.
• Basic computer skills (eg. excel, web, email, word). Point of sales systems desirable.
• Organised and tidy working methods.
• Good communication skills and ability to deal with a broad range of customers warmly, politely and effectively.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative team atmosphere (mature, motivated, reliable and considerate to colleagues)
• A genuine interest in cycling for transport and/or bicycle trekking is highly desirable.

Conditions of Employment

• Full time, permanent, salaried position (20-40 hrs/wk)
• Flexible working conditions
