KRUSH Announces Grassroots Scholarships Scheme
A group of Australian bicycle companies have collaborated to create a unique scholarship scheme for up and coming young cyclists.
Industry participants included Sea Otter Australia, KRUSH, Bikecorp, Pushys, GravityOZ, Ridemore and Fist Handware.
The program was to have been launched at Sea Otter Australia. Unfortunately, as we detailed elsewhere, that event has been postponed for another year due to ongoing covid travel restrictions.
Therefore the scholarship program will also be delayed and applications will now be open until 28th September 2022.
The KRUSH Grassroots Scholarship will includes over $8,000 worth of bike care products, store credit, coaching, rider mentoring and financial support for travel expenses and race entry fees to help elevate the recipients’ riding careers.
Exclusive one-on-one mentoring sessions will be lead by ambassadors Junior National Champion and Canyon Team Rider Baxter Maiwald (VIC); and 8x BMX & Mountain Bike World Champion and 2x Olympian Caroline Buchanan (ACT). Whilst coaching sessions will be offered courtesy of Gravity Oz founder Shannon Rademaker.
Scholarships will be awarded to two junior Australian riders, one female and one male, aged between 12 and 19.
The program will also offer Encouragement Awards to two promising young riders to support their growth and development in the sport, valued at over $1,000 each.
