Pirelli has issued a product safety recall for its P Zero Race TLR and P Zero Race TLR Classic road tyres because of the potential for the bead to become unseated.
The recall is for two tyres manufactured between 6th March and the 18th June 2023:
- 28-622 Pirelli P ZERO TM Race TLR Classic (UPC: 8019227398434)
- 28-622 Pirelli P ZERO TM Race TLR (UPC: 8019227414967)
Retailers and consumers are advised to check if they purchased these products between 20th March and 18th July 2023.
Consumers should return the affected tyre to their place of purchase for a replacement or refund if the tyre’s date code on the sidewall is between 1023 and 2423.
Receipts are not required and consumers can contact Pirelli if they are unable to return the tyres to the point of purchase.
According to the recall notice, the bead diameter of the affected tyres could lead to bead unseating with rapid air loss.
The tyres were sold by Trek Bicycle Corporation stores and retail partners of distributor FE Sports. Visit https://www.fesports.com.au/Resellers to find retail stores.
