Bernie Jones Cycles to Close After 51 Years
A longstanding independent Adelaide bike shop – known for its landmark big bicycle on the roof – will close its doors at the end of the month.
Tracey Loader and husband Jeff have decided to shutter Bernie Jones Cycles at Diagonal Rd, Warradale, in the south western suburbs of Adelaide, SA.
The store was started by Bernie Jones in a nearby location in 1968 and sold to Mr Loader’s parents in 1985 before Jeff and Tracey later took over.
The sale of the building and ending of the shop’s lease forced the Loaders to reconsider their business future.
After the closure Tracey will focus on her passion running Body Cycles – a business that builds custom-made tricycles for children with disabilities.
Bernie Jones Cycles will close its doors on 30th November 2019.
