Inside Bikecorp – Before and After Photos

Melbourne, Vic

Back in May 2021, we managed to sneak into ‘Fortress Victoria’ between Covid lockdowns and take photos of Bikecorp’s then brand new headquarters while it was still a hard hat construction zone, about a month before they started to move in.

The new warehouse is located in a brand new industrial precinct next to Moorabbin Airport, in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Fast forward 21 months and the warehouse looks quite different! According to Bikecorp’s John Dunnachie, they never expected it to become quite so full, so fast. But despite the post-Covid stock overhang that the whole Australian bicycle industry is currently experiencing, Bikecorp’s new warehouse still has spare capacity and is operating at optimum efficiency.

In addition to the warehouse pictured here, our previous article shows the exterior, offices and lunch facilities etc. John says they got almost all of their design decisions right in the purpose-built facility and their team is both more comfortable and more efficient now they’re well settled in and fully operational.

Bikecorp designed its warehouse with this mid-aisle cut-through lane that minimises the ‘picking path’ that their warehouse team has to walk to pick orders. Meanwhile, the overhead shelving means only minimal storage capacity has been lost.
