Well, the time has come to take a break and move to the calling of a substantial project away from the cycling world.

After 9 years, some eye opening times, some strategic and location changes, some resourcefulness, some survival and mostly, some great times, I have chosen to place this wonderful business on the market.

Lifecycle is a brand that is 49 years old, has a deep history and love among the cycling community in Brisbane and is a name that should be continued in the hands of the next enthusiast.

In 2015, I was given the opportunity to become the owner of this long standing business at its 37 year location at the Normanby Fiveways, right near the CBD. I came in at a time of much change in the industry, many players influencing the directions of stores, plus a few surprises to overcome. In February 2017, I made the decision to move from the large location, getting ahead of some of the variations to come and reopened in Highgate Hill in a much smaller operation, concentrating on service, custom builds with selected frame and bike stock catering to well informed clientele. Added a few unique services and I saw the business begin to thrive in the new location right next to the CBD.

So I offer for sale a fantastic small business in a valued location, right on River Loop, lots of passing cyclists, with a large, loyal customer base, a near perfect client review record, and a series of strong relationships with local and International suppliers of specialist bikes and parts. I offer a lower value stock holding, as few completes are retained on the floor. The store opens Monday to Friday 8-5 and Saturday from 9-12. There is a Saturday ride from the shop with a great community of riders and links to a couple of other rides each week.

There is an on hand Mechanic with over 34 years of qualified experience and speciality knowledge. There is also a Fiat Scudo Van included as that is vital to the successful ongoing “Collect and Return” element of the business we offer for the CBD and nearby suburbs, running for the past 6 years.

This is an easy transition purchase, simple systems to adopt and the chance to continue this wonderful name into the future. Maybe time to move to a warmer state, reduce the hours worked and take advantage of the riding options surrounding the shop.
