Sydney’s Newest Bike Store Opens
Specialist ebike retailer Sydney Electric Bikes has opened a brand new store at Engadine and relocated its Thornleigh store to a new site in Hornsby.
The two news stores are virtually at the extreme northern and southern edges of the greater Sydney metropolitan region and both have close access to mountain biking trails.
Sydney Electric Bikes’ main store is remaining at 210 Harris St Pyrmont, which is just west of the city centre Sydney about three blocks inland from Darling Harbour.
Engadine’s Store Manager Andy Eather has extensive bike industry experience, including most recently working at the main Sydney Electric Bikes store.
He’s been happy with the response since opening the new store for the first time on 4th November.
“My first sale was an $8,000 Merida eMTB to a customer from Berrima,” he said. Berrima is a country town 130 km south west of Sydney.
Andy said that the new store, which is at 2/1060 Old Princes Highway Engadine, has at least 50 kilometres of mountain bike trails nearby. It’s just two blocks from Royal National Park, the second oldest national park in the world which has extensive trails that are popular with mountain bikers.
Engadine is 33 km south of Sydney’s CBD and has a population of 17,375 within the suburb itself.
Meanwhile the new Hornsby store is at 2/208 Pacific Highway on the ground floor of a very large apartment complex. It’s about 100 metres south of the centre of Hornsby which includes a Westfield shopping centre and commuter rail station.
Hornsby is 19 km north of Sydney’s CBD and has population within the immediate suburb of 22,168.
