Expo Bookings Now Open for 2022 Micromobility Conference & Expo
Randwick, NSW
All bicycle industry members are now able to book expo space for the 2022 Micromobility Conference & Expo.
This new annual event, to be held on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November, is being presented by The Latz Report and our sister publication, Micromobility Report.
“Traditional bicycle industry members should not be put off by the title including the word ‘Micromobility’”, says event co-founder Phil Latz, who is also publisher of The Latz Report and Micromobility Report.
“We expect that conventional bicycles, along with e-bikes, will be the largest categories on display. But we wanted to move with the times and embrace all the new technology and markets that are growing fast.”
“I think it’s important Australia’s bicycle industry members have an open mind towards what future markets might look like, even when some new products in some States and Territories are currently illegal on our roads. I don’t think they’re competition for traditional bicycles but will help make our overall sector larger and more important. A rising tide lifts all boats.
“I certainly wasn’t prepared to simply start a ‘Bicycling Australia Show – Version 2’,” he said, referring to an event he launched with his previous company and, over a decade, built into the largest bicycle trade show ever held in Australia.
“Now I’ve got my ‘60 or Bust!’ Melbourne to Sydney charity ride out of my system, I’m putting a huge amount of time and energy into maximising the success of our inaugural Micromobility Conference & Expo.
“We have a fantastic team making this happen and we’ve partnered with a highly successful and respected expo specialist, Interpoint Events.”
What Exhibitors Can Expect
Expo space will be designed to ensure exhibitors of all sizes have plenty of opportunity for valuable exposure.
“Based on the experience and advice of Interpoint Events, booth sizes will be restricted so no company can dominate the show,” Phil explained.
“Every smaller exhibitor will be most welcome and will not be overshadowed.
“We’ve carefully selected the venue, Royal Randwick Racecourse in the inner suburbs of Sydney, NSW. It has five-star exhibition and catering facilities and, most importantly, spacious, traffic-free grounds and paths that will allow us to run at least three test tracks simultaneously.
“As every industry member already knows, one of the best ways to win over new customers is to get them riding,” he added.
“All exhibitors will have access to the test tracks if they wish to use them, regardless of whether they have an indoor or outdoor exhibit space.”
“The world has moved on since our old Bicycling Australia Show days. This will be both a trade and consumer show, with no restrictions on who can exhibit and what they can exhibit.
Exhibitors will be free to choose if they sell or not. Wholesalers are welcome to exhibit directly, which is our first preference, or to partner with a local dealer.”
The Micromobility Expo will have free admission to all members of the trade and public who pre-register via the Micromobility Expo website. Those who do not pre-register will still be welcome but will pay a modest admission price.
Organisers are aiming for more than 1,000 trade and professional attendees and over 5,000 general public to attend over the two-day event, which will run from 9am to 5pm on both days.
The Micromobility Conference will also run at these times, upstairs in the same venue, with long breaks allowing delegates to visit the Expo.
There will be a range of networking events, including a Happy Hour and Gala Dinner that will include the annual Cycling Luminaries Awards hosted by We Ride Australia.
“I thought long and hard before committing to co-launch this event,” Phil Latz concluded.
Our industry needs and deserves an annual showcase of the highest standards that … shouts the benefits of the brilliant products and services we sell to our entire nation.
“I’m under no illusions about how much work will be involved, not to mention financial risk. But I think our industry needs and deserves an annual showcase of the highest standards that not only brings everyone together, but via invited media and all attendees, shouts the benefits of the brilliant products and services we sell to our entire nation.”
