Strong Support for 3T Ukraine Special Edition

Italian bike manufacturer 3T has received strong interest in a special edition road bike it has produced to demonstrate support for Ukraine during its invasion by Russia.

3T produced five of the Exploro RaceMax Ukraine – with all proceeds to be donated to Red Cross Italy to support the people in Ukraine – and within days had received 200 orders.

The company is now looking at whether it can create additional units of the special edition bike.

3T president and CEO Rene Wiertz said with the bike “dedicated to the heroes in Ukraine defending their country”, its top tube features the phrase Слава Україні! Героям слава!, which translates to Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!

Rene said his team were in daily contact with 3T’s Ukrainian dealer Sergey, who lives near Kyiv.  While 3T is offering support to the Sergey and his family, the company was inspired to do more.

He said the initiative has received support from tyre manufacturer Vittoria.

“When I told Stijn Vriends, CEO of Vittoria, of our Ukrainian bike project, he immediately offered his support to provide free-of-charge tyres with the matching colours of the Ukrainian flag,” Rene added.

“Cycling stands for freedom: freedom to go where you want, when you want, with whom you want to ride. Let this bike be a symbol the freedom the Ukraine people are fighting for.”

SRAM announced earlier this month it has suspended shipments to Russia and is matching donations by its employees to humanitarian organisations aiding Ukrainians, such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and UNICEF Ukraine Doctors without Borders.
