Taipei Cycle Combines Physical and Virtual Expos For First Time
Taipei, Taiwan
One of the world’s biggest B2B cycling gatherings, Taipei Cycle, is preparing to go ‘hybrid’ in March, combining physical and virtual exhibitions for the first time.
The annual expo has been held exclusively as an online event for the past two years after the COVID pandemic caused the cancellation of the 2020 and then the 2021 physical events.
Organisers encouraged by the 2021 virtual event have built upon that platform for 2022, with Taipei Cycle DigitalGo to be held from 9th March to 8th April.
The physical event will return to Taiwan’s Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from 9th to 12th March.
Event organisers recently released a ‘teaser trailer’ showcasing key features of the DigitalGo show platform.
A statement from Taipei Cycling said the DigitalGo exhibition is designed to enable exhibitors to overcome the potential limitations of borders and time zones, particularly amid the pandemic.
“Taipei Cycle has strived to connect suppliers and brands through digital solutions since 2020,” it says.
“This year, Taipei Cycle DigitalGo’s newly-optimised virtual platform will work in parallel with the physical show to help both visitors and exhibitors explore more business opportunities.”
The 2022 hybrid event will feature almost 700 physical exhibitors and more than 2,200 exhibition booths, complemented by around 200 virtual exhibitors.
The DigitalGo platform includes a VR Networking Lounge where visitors can view information about exhibitors and fellow visitors, send instant messages and exchange virtual business cards.
Exhibitor guided tours will enable detailed discussions and presentations of products.
Platform users will also be provided with AI recommendations based on their initial product category preferences, encouraging more extensive networking between exhibitors and visitors.
