Carbon wheel specialist Reynolds Cycling keeps going from strength to strength.
The US manufacturer offers strength in numbers – with the most comprehensive range of carbon wheels – and strength in design, including new impact dispersing technology in its premium MTB hoops and overall durability that enables the company to offer lifetime warranties on all its wheels.
The Australian distributor for Reynolds, Melbourne-based company Bikesportz Imports, is also offering strong supply, after investing heavily in stock this season to ensure continuity of product.
BikeSportz has a continual flow of Reynolds wheels deliveries arriving into their warehouse and currently has good stocks on popular lines like their AR41 Disc and Rim Brake road wheels.
Established in 1998, Reynolds entrench itself in the premium carbon wheel market with its Assault, Attack and Strike aero road wheels. Their success prompted the Utah company to upsize in 2013 to its Composite Development Centre, where it continues to design and engineer its wheels. Five years later, Reynolds Cycling was purchased by Hayes Performance Systems.
Bikesportz Product Manager Adrian Smith said the acquisition created some great synergies with their other Hayes brands, including off-road wheel manufacturer SUNringlé with its intense focus on durability.
“Those synergies are starting to flow into some Reynolds models this season,” Adrian said.
“Reynolds have been busy creating new models of late and now offer the most comprehensive carbon wheel line available, catering for disc and rim-brake bikes.

“They now have wheelsets to suit all wheel categories in road, gravel, MTB, with plenty more exciting new models to come in 2022.
“There have been a lot of significant advances with the new models and we’re particularly excited about the new mixed-depth aero road wheels, as well as the Blacklabel 309/289 XC Pro MTB wheels and their budget-friendly TR309/289XC option.”
Both the Blacklabel 309/289 XC Pro and TR309/289XC are ideal for aggressive XC, trail and down country bikes, with a 30mm internal width front wheel and 28mm internal width rear wheel.
The Blacklabel Pro wheels feature Industry 9 Hydra Hubs, Reynolds MR5 tubeless-ready hookless rims with IDM technology and Sapim CX Ray spokes ($3,349 RRP). The TR309/289XC wheels feature new Reynolds/Ringle SRX Hubs, tubeless-ready hookless rims and Sapim spokes ($1,999 RRP).
All Blacklabel MTB wheels feature Reynolds Cycling’s new Impact Dispersing Matrix (IDM) technology, which combines high-quality carbon fibre and a unique resin with exceptional impact dispersing characteristics. The technology has been tested and proven by World Cup downhill teams, confirming their industry-leading reliability. Reynolds World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series team riders have completed whole seasons without requiring replacement wheels – something unheard of for pro-level riders.
Reynolds deep-section aero road wheels are a regular sight at triathlons and time trials and the new models are set to maintain that popularity.
The new range comprises the AR41/58X Rim brake wheels set, AR41/62X disc brake wheelset and AR58/80X rim brake wheelset, with all options retailing for $2,399.
Prices for Reynolds wheels range from $1,999 RRP for its AR Road and TR level MTB wheels up to $3,350 for top-of-the-line Blacklabel road or MTB wheels.
Reynolds backs all its wheels with lifetime warranties on rims for the original owner and two years for hubs and spokes, including damage from incidents while riding.
