Portugal-based plastics and two-wheeler specialist Polisport moved into the high-performance bottle market when it released its lightweight R550 range in 2019.

Tipping the scales at just 53 grams for the race-approved 550-millilitre option, the R550 narrowly pips the Elite Fly as the lightest bottle on the market and both are just over half the weight of the average cycling bottle of comparable size.

Polisport R range drink bottle spec details
At 71 grams for the 750 millilitre bottle and 53g for R550, Polisport’s R range is the lightest on the market.

Now Polisport has expanded the range to include a 750ml option that is also incredibly light, with the R750 weighing only 71 grams.

The R550 and R750 have several additional design features aimed at riders who want to stay light and fast.

“The lightest bottle on the market.”

The BP-free polypropylene bottles are super soft around their middle, so they can be easily squeezed for rapid fluid intake, and have ergonomic designs so they can be grabbed quickly and with a confident grip.

Polisport R range drink bottle features
Polisport burst onto the high-performance bottle market with the R550.

The R550 and R750 have screw-on lids with tips manufactured using an ultra-supple thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for a soft opening and high-flow channels to further assist with quick drinking so riders can have both hands back on the handlebars as soon as possible.

A clear scale up the side of the bottle makes it easy to see how much fluid is left in the bottle and when that level gets low, the R Range bottles’ wide opening facilitates rapid refilling and convenient cleaning.
