BBB Lighting the Way

As a longstanding powerhouse in the European P&A market, BBB knows a thing or two about producing lights for the deepest, darkest winters. Their latest StrikeDuo models are a great example of modern LED lights that are capable of much more than just being seen.

The StrikeDuo range consists of three models, with the flagship being the StrikeDuo 2000. As the name suggests, it punches out an impressive 2,000 lumens of light in the brightest setting.

This combines with a specially designed oval beam pattern that spreads the light broadly across the road or trail for enhanced peripheral vision while limiting the vertical spread to reduce glare for oncoming traffic.

An alloy casing helps to dissipate heat and also makes the StrikeDuo a rugged and versatile unit. Utilising a tool-free rubber mounting strap, the light will fit just about any handlebar, regardless of the diameter or shape. It’s also water-resistant with an IPX4 rating, so heavy downpours won’t phase it.

Featuring alloy construction and a handy tool-free universal mount, the StrikeDuo range aims to be robust yet practical.

While it’s relatively light at 218g, the StrikeDuo 2000 packs a 6,700mAh battery; that’s big enough to run the light at full power for just on two hours. Of course, the power output can be varied, extending the burn-time anywhere up to 200 hours.

The top-end Strike-Duo 2000 is also supplied with a wired remote button that allows you to flick between modes without taking your hands off the bars—super handy for MTB or gravel bike applications.

The range-topping StrikeDuo 2000 is supplied with a handy remote switch to easily switch between modes on the go. It’s available as an optional extra on the StrikeDuo 1600 and 1200.

Given the impressive list of features, the StrikeDuo remains sharply priced at $230. If 2,000 lumens is overkill, or a customer is on a tighter budget, BBB offers 1,600 lumen and 1,200 lumen versions of the light; these sell for $200 and $150 respectively.

Aside from being more affordable, the StrikeDuo 1600 and the StrikeDuo 1200 are slightly lighter and more compact, making them a good option for commuter applications.

Retailing for $35 apiece, the Spark 2.0 front and rear rechargeable lights are perfect for being seen and make a good point-of-sale offering.

Beyond these high-powered flagships, BBB has a comprehensive line of ‘lights to be seen with’, such as 100 lumen Spark 2.0 front light or the 20 lumen Spark 2.0 taillight, both retailing for $35 apiece.
