Nutcase Returns to Oz!

Nutcase are known as one of the first brands to bring cool casual styling and fun themes to cycling helmets. Well, after a two-year absence from the Australian market, JetBlack Products is bringing the Nutcase brand back Down Under, complete with full AS/NZS certification!

Fun, bright and appealing is where it’s at with their distinctive range of junior helmets, but that doesn’t come at the expense of safety. All of their models, right down to the smallest ‘Baby Nutty’ feature MIPS technology to better protect against rotational forces. You’ll also find non-pinch Fidlock magnetic buckles, their ‘Grow Flex’ adjustable harness system and three different pad thickness options to further fine-tune the fit.

Fun themes appeal on the Little Nutty but you get a host of practical features; removable visors, magnetic buckles and variable thickness padding.

The Little Nutty is the mainstay of their junior line-up. Retailing for around $115, it features a sturdy injection moulded ABS shell to resist smaller knocks and bumps, while the ‘Crumple Zone’ EPS foam is specifically designed to offer better protection for kids.

An easy-to-fit visor comes standard and a total of 11 vents assists with airflow. The bright and fun graphics don’t just appeal to the kids, they also incorporate reflective logos to provide enhanced 360-degree visibility.

Nutcase offers this model in two shell sizes; toddler covers from 48-52cm and youth goes from 52-56cm.

Designed for the littlest riders – usually, from 12 months and up – the $99 Baby Nutty is offered in a single shell size.

Using the Grow Flex harness and variable-thickness padding it caters for head sizes from 48 to 52cm. Unlike the Little Nutty, the Baby Nutty has a polycarbonate outer shell which makes this model as light as possible.

Ventilation is often forgotten on the smallest helmets but not with the Baby Nutty—it incorporates 11 vents to provide extra airflow.

Baby Nutty shares its styling with the Little Nutty but employs a lightweight polycarbonate outer shell, making it more comfortable for the smallest riders.

While the designs have been refined since we last saw the brand in Australia, the fun and imaginative graphics remain, with a huge selection to choose from. Big kids can get in on the fun too; their $130 Street line offers street-wise styling and designs for adults with three shell sizes catering for head sizes ranging from 48cm up to 64cm.

Nutcase has also introduced two brand new models aimed at enthusiasts, commuters, couriers, touring and adventure cyclists. Like their longstanding models, the Vio Adventure and Vio Commute incorporate MIPS protection, Fidlock magnetic buckles and a compact detachable visor.

With integrated rechargeable LED lights, the Vio Commute brings an extra layer of safety to city riding.

The new design has nine large vents, a lightweight two-piece ‘Exoskeleton’ shell and dual-density EPS foam protection. It melds wrap-around protection with styling that makes the Vio seem at home in just about any setting; from backcountry gravel adventures to dodging cars in the city. The commuter model also has built-in rechargeable LED lights; a series of red lights around the sides and rear with the front logo serving as a 200 lumen headlight! The Vio Adventure and Vio Commute will sell for $149 and $249 respectively.

Availability is expected from early August 21. To browse the entire Nutcase range and see the vast array of colours and designs, go to the JetBlack Products site: www.jetblackproducts.com
