With 70 years of experience in carbon manufacturing as well as good exposure through OEM spec and elite rider sponsorship, Reynolds is stacked with credibility when it comes to composite wheels. BikeSportz is the official Australian distributor and they hold good stock across the board; from their wide-trail MTB wheels to the premium Blacklabel road wheels. The volume seller however is the AR collection.

AR stands for All Roads and they’re built to provide top-level performance at a price that won’t leave your customer looking to sell a kidney. The line-up is extensive and encompasses everything from lightweight low profile designs to extra-deep aero wheels and wider gravel models. All AR models retail for $2,199 a pair, which is sharp pricing for carbon wheels that are backed by a reputable manufacturer.

With a 41mm deep tubeless ready carbon rim, the AR41 is available in both rim and disc brake models.

Common features on the AR series include a wide, tubeless ready inner rim profile that allows efficient rolling with lower tyre pressures, which in turn leads to enhanced comfort and road grip. All rim profiles have been designed with aerodynamics in mind, with the goal of providing good crosswind stability. Depth options include 29, 41, 58 and 80mm, while their G-Series gravel wheels utilise a shallower 26mm deep rim that measures 25mm between the bead hooks. There’s even an aero-gravel option, the ATR which features a 40mm deep profile and a 23mm internal width.

The All-Roads range features Sapim Sprint spokes and CNC machined TR3 hubs.

All AR rims are built with lightweight bladed Sapim Sprint stainless steel spokes and brass nipples—a reliable long-lasting choice. At the heart of each wheel you’ll find Reynolds TR3 hubs. They’re fully CNC machined with smooth rolling sealed bearings and utilise a pawl mechanism that delivers 10-degree engagement. Most models come in either rim or disc brake and those relying on rim stoppers feature a heat resistant CTG2 brake track.

More than just aero, Reynolds has engineered their profiles to perform in cross-wind situations too.

For many, the deal clincher will be the comprehensive warranty. This covers the original owner against both manufacturing defects as well as rim damage, so long as it occurs while riding within the intended use of the product. In the event of a non-warranty or non-riding incident, Reynolds may offer crash replacement pricing for the original owner. It’s reassuring for the consumer to know they’re backed by Reynolds when it comes to accidental rim damage while riding.
