Trainer Duo Attracts Riders with Prospect of Team Berth

Madison, Wisconsin, US

Bike trainer manufacturer Saris and virtual riding app developer Rouvy have launched a novel way to get riders on their stationary trainers, while uncovering some of the world’s best young talent.

They have launched an online race series giving riders aged 18 to 23 the chance to earn a spot on the continental racing team Saris Rouvy Sauerland Team.

The four-part race series will be conducted on the Rouvy app in late January and February, with final team selections to occur at an in-person team camp in Gerona in March.

Two slots have been allocated for virtual series selections on the team, which in turn is aiming to earn a place in the ProTour.

An announcement of the qualification series coincided with Rouvy’s confirmation it was becoming a title sponsor of the team, which was founded in 2016 to offer young talented athletes an environment to learn and develop their skills and help them reach pro level.

Saris’s mission has always been to “break down the barriers of cycling and make it more inclusive”.

Riders from across the globe are encouraged to apply and registrations are now open by visiting the Saris website.
