Giant expects to sell 600,000 ebikes in 2019, up from 385,000 in 2018. That’s a growth rate of 56% year on year. Giant recently announced that they had sold 290,000 ebikes for the first six months of 2019 and were aiming to sell more than 310,000 for the second half of this year.

Giant is investing 48 million Euro (A$78 million) to build a new European factory in Hungary that will have the capacity to build 300,000 bicycles per year including both ebike and non-ebike models.
