Austrian motorcycle giant Pierer Industrie AG has acquired a majority stake in high-quality componentry manufacturer Syntace.
The takeover includes Syntace’s MTB branch, Liteville.
“The innovative strength of Syntace and the expertise of its technical staff is complementary to the Pierer Group, where technology and the transfer of know-how between the business units is a key factor for success,” according to a statement issued by Pierer Industrie. No details were given about the purchase price.
According to a report on the Bike Europe website, Pierer Industrie AG sees Liteville as “an addition to Funbike GmbH”, which was acquired last year.
Syntace and Liteville are distributed in Australia by SA-based company EightyOneSpices.
