Tineli Brings Superior Quality Tailored for Australia

Premium performance at Tineli isn’t limited to its high-quality custom clothing and seasonal collections.

Its emphasis on high performance begins with its relationships – with its many devoted clients around the world for tailormade cycling kits and with the growing number of retailers stocking Tineli collections designed for local conditions.

Quality production was an inspiration for Tineli founders Tim and Sandy Vincent.

While bike racing in Europe, they were very conscious of the high quality of apparel available there compared to what was largely available back in Australasia.

Tineli has several collections for MTB riders, as well as road cyclists and triathletes.

They turned that inspiration into their own range of apparel and wanted a name that reflected that motivation for European quality, choosing a name with an Italian flavour. The Ti is extracted from Tim, Nel from Nelson and the i was simply added to provide the European feel.

When they returned to the southern hemisphere in 2005, offering apparel collections designed for local seasons and conditions, they built a network of more than 100 retailers across Australia and NZ.

From there, Tineli has progressed from a home-based operation in the NZ city of Nelson to a global concern with offices and local staff in Melbourne, Wollongong, NZ and the UK.

Tineli’s product design and development are completed in Australasia. Orders are then sent to a Chinese factory Tineli has been working with for over 17 years, maintaining an exceptional record of consistently delivering on quality and on schedule.

“At St Kilda Cycling Club, we ran a very detailed and exhaustive tender process from kit manufacturers both locally and overseas. Tineli came out on top.”

Tineli garment detail
Tineli garments are designed specifically for local seasons and conditions.

As part of its attention to detail, Tineli surveyed its client in 2021/22 to further confirm its strength and areas for improvement. The feedback from customers was clear – Tineli was particularly appreciated for its exceptional service, its high degree of flexibility, consistency in quality, sizes and colours, and its understanding of what constituted optimum quality apparel. Tineli treasures the customer feedback – not only because it confirms the company is on the right track but also because it has helped guide many of the refinements Tineli has made to its custom and collection garments.

Tineli offers custom clothing for road cycling, mountain biking and triathlon. They include fully customisable apparel and design packages from $65 (plus GST), with low minimum order quantities, short lead times, fast turnarounds, a Tineli Team Store and online team portal.

In Australia, it’s Tineli’s custom shop kits and other custom garments that have been particularly popular. Its long list of clients for custom kit include numerous Australian teams.

Customised designs are available for each of its long and short sleeved jerseys, jackets and vests, as well as its shorts and bibs, tights, skinsuits, mountain bike garments and triathlon clothing.

The tailored options also extend to running clothing, many of the cycling accessories, and even corporate and casual T-shirts and polo shirts.

Many businesses use the Tineli Team Store to streamline the process and ensure orders arrived as quickly as possible.
