Champions Choice is giving bicycle workshops a more cost–efficient and eco-friendly option for tyre sealants.

The new inhouse brand by Newcastle-based distributor Lusty Industries is not only unrivalled for price, it also offers high performance courtesy of its Infinite-Ride formulation and has been engineered and produced entirely in Australia.

Lusty Industries introduced its inhouse sealant brand 12 months ago, after seeing the opportunity for greater efficiencies in many workshops around the country.

“A lot of stores were using one-litre bottles to do their refills and at the end of the week they were throwing aways dozens and dozens of bottles,” according to Lusty Industries National Sales & Marketing Manager Myles Potter.

The four-litre bottle is a great option for workshops and customers not in a position to step up to the full 10-litre bottle of Champions Choice.

“We saw a benefit to supply sealant in bulk, to save them money and be more environmentally friendly.”

“While some sealants that are latex based and high in ammonia lose effectiveness after only a few weeks, Champions Choice can last six months or more before it needs to be topped up.”

Lusty teamed with industry-leading tyre sealant chemists that supply a range of industries and together they embarked on a lengthy development process, in collaboration with some of the fastest World Cup mountain bike athletes.

The Infinite-Ride formulation comprises cellulose microfibre particles with low viscosity, so it quickly seals holes up to six millimetres and operates effectively in a massive range of temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees and as high as 50 degrees.

In keeping with Lusty’s goal to provide a more eco-friendly sealant option, Champions Choice isn’t latex based. It’s non-toxic and non-corrosive, and while it seals rapidly when needed, it is much less prone to drying, allowing riders to ride twice are far between top-ups.

Both the 10-litre and four-litre bottles come with a tap for easy dispensing.

While some sealants that are latex based and high in ammonia lose effectiveness after only a few weeks, Champions Choice can last six months or more before it needs to be topped up.

When that time does come, the non-adhesive formula is easy to clean.

Anchorman movie fans will also appreciate the ‘Sex Panther’ fragrance.

“As the suppliers of Maxxis in Australia, we were looking at what sealants workshops were using with our tyres,” Myles said.

“As part of that, we were examining ways to further enhance the performance of those tyres.

“Stores have been reporting they’re completely sold on the product and we’re getting excellent feedback from our riders.”

Champions Choice is available in workshop-friendly four and 10-litre bottles fitted with a tap.

From next year, stores will also be able to make it available on their shelves in 500 millilitre bottles, so it’s more convenient for customers to take home the sealant the shop’s mechanics are using and recommending.
