As we wrote about previously here, automotive tyre giant Goodyear, founded in 1898 as a bicycle tyre company and now employing over 54,000 people worldwide, recently re-launched its bicycle tyre division.

Goodyear bicycle tyres became available to Australian dealers from February 2020.

Dealers can make great margins in a high volume sector of the market with Goodyear’s Transit range. This consists of two models, the Transit Speed and Transit Tour.

Both Transit models feature key technologies:

  • Depending upon the model either S3 Shell – a 3mm aramid layer below the tread, plus sidewall armour, or Secure – a 5mm aramid layer below the tread plus sidewall armour.
  • Dynamic Silica4 – formulated to maximise rolling efficiency while still providing class leading grip in wet conditions.
  • Tubeless Complete – tubeless specific beads and casings allowing for easy installation and superior air retention.
  • Ebike approved up to 50kph.
